Tamarind has won several top honours including the 2005 Best of Britain award for Restaurant Achievement of the Year as well as the Best Front of House award for 2001 and 2002 and the Restaurateurs’ Indian Restaurant of the Year award in 2003 and 2004
Rajesh Suri has been with the Tamarind group since 1998 and, as CEO, is in charge of executive operations. His experience, ability and wealth of information about food and wine are often credited as responsible for Tamarind’s many prestigious awards. In addition, Rajesh has also opened the group’s sister restaurant – Imli - in the heart of Soho.
Alfred Prasad was the youngest Indian chef to receive a Michelin star - at just 29 years old. He joined Tamarind in 2001, as sous chef, and became executive chef the following year. The expertise, talent and ambition of this rising star have ensured that Tamarind’s cuisine continues to receive praise from guests and critics alike.
